形态描述：攀援草本，具块状根；茎、枝纤细，有沟纹，光滑无毛。叶柄细，长5-8厘米，无腺体；叶片卵状心形，膜质，长9-13厘米，宽7-11厘米，浅波状或不规则3-5浅裂，稀不分裂，边缘有稀疏的粗齿，先端急尖，基部心形，弯缺较深，叶脉掌状，叶面绿色，初时有稀疏的短柔毛，脉上被黄褐色柔毛，后渐脱落，变近无毛，叶背浅绿色，有稀疏的腺点。卷须丝状，无毛，不分歧。雌雄异株。雄花：单生于叶腋，花梗纤细，无毛，有沟纹，长8-14厘米，顶端生一黄绿色的叶状苞片；苞片膜质，无柄，圆肾形，兜状，长2-2.5厘米，宽2.5-3.5厘米，两面有极稀疏的柔毛，具缘毛；花萼密被长柔毛，裂片披针形，长8-9毫米，宽4-5毫米，具1脉，先端急尖；花冠淡黄色，裂片长圆形，长3-3.5厘米，宽2-2.5厘米，先端钝；雄蕊3，2枚2室，1枚1室，药室2回折曲。雌花：单生于叶腋，花梗纤细，长6-10厘米，有时基部有一苞片，后脱落；花萼与花冠同雄花；子房卵状长圆形，长0.8厘米，径0.3厘米，基部渐狭，外面有乳头状凸起。果实卵形或宽卵形，长3-5厘米，径2-2.5厘米，粗糙，有瘤状凸起。种子长圆形，黄褐色，边缘不拱起，两面有不规则的雕纹，长10-14毫米，宽6-8毫米，厚5毫米。花期6-8月，果期8-11月。
